This course is designed keeping in mind beginner’s level data science enthusiasts who are looking for a wholesome guide on data science and its concepts. For intermediate level data science enthusiasts, subsequent courses of data science are recommended. This course can help refresh data science fundamentals.

This course elaborates on stages of the data science pipeline in detail. Some concepts are not elaborated to avoid length reading time but these concepts will be covered in the subsequent courses.

Data science is a field of computer science with application in a wide variety of domains such as business, medicine, management, and most of all in analytics. Any field which generates data can make use of data science to analyze large amounts of data simultaneously. The popularity of this field can be attributed to the 3 V’s of data in this period namely volume, variety, and velocity of the data being generated. These three V’s have also lead to a new term called big data. The collection, organization, interpretation, and understanding of this data to draw non-obvious conclusions about the data is called data science.
